Your toddler will love the different colors, textures, chilly temperature, taste and fun layout of this chilly and healthy summertime treat. You will be amazed (as I was) at how a couple of little changes can get your toddler to eat some of the same food they normally would have stuck their nose up to...or their tongue out at!
Things you will need:
- 1/2 Banana
- 1/10 Watermelon
- 1/10 cantaloupe
- 3 organic blueberries
- 3 organic grapes
- knife, cutting board
- fun shaped cookie cutter (we used an ice cream cone cookie cutter)
- kid's plate
- freezer
And here are the steps:
- Rinse Grapes and Blueberries. Slice each in half and place aside.
- Cut small sections of both Cantaloupe and Watermelon depending on size of your cookie cutter. Cut shapes out of both watermelon and cantaloupe with cookie cutter; or freestyle. Place aside.
- Place all of your cut fruit (aside from the banana) on a plate, separating each piece (to prevent from sticking together once frozen). Place in freezer 30 min to hour. Longer if preferred.
- Take out frozen fruit from freezer. Place your watermelon and cantaloupe shapes in middle of kid's plate.
- Slice banana. Place each banana slice around the edge of plate, creating a circle around the cantaloupe and watermelon shapes.
- Place frozen grapes on top of each banana slice. Place each blueberry on the edge of each banana ; connecting each banana.
- Take a break and enjoy with your toddler!
