Munchin' On McVegan
McDonalds is possibly the last place you would find a vegan dinning. But at "McVegan", you'll find a setting where dozens of people, omnivores and carnivores alike, go to munch on delicious vegan burgers, shakes, and cookies.
Mcvegan is a campaign piloted by the non-profit organization Vegan Action: vegan.org. McVegan is way of educating people in a fun and tasty way about the many benefits of becoming vegan.
Each year Vegan Action helps people worldwide organize McVegan events. They pass out thousands of complimentary vegan food samples and dietary information to the public-reaffirming that food is the fastest route to people's hearts.
McDonald's corporation apparently did not appreciate their humor. Instead, they sent a letter to Vegan Action asking that they stop distributing the T-shirt. After refusing to comply, the battle of the clowns was on. Then, after Vegan Action released the story to the media, McDonald's backed down! The vegans had won over McDonald's!
The McVegan campaign is still continuing today, and coordinating a McVegan event is a fun and effective way in which you can educate the public about the many benefits of a vegan diet. Visit vegan.org for step-by-step instructions on how to bring McVegan to your town. And, if you have questions along the way, you can contact the vegan experts at ReggieMcVeggie@vegan.org.
McVegan's motto is "billions and billions saved" -Reggie McVeggie (Ronald McDonald's Compassionate twin brother).
