A fruit bouquet is a beautiful and delicious treat for any occasion! Create your own with these simple steps.
You will need these supplies:
- Basket, glass bowl, ceramic container, or vase (to hold the fruit bouquet).
- Floral foam (from any craft store) OR a head of iceberg lettuce (lettuce is an edible and green alternative to floral foam); this will hold your arrangement in place.
- Lettuce leaves; will be used to cover the floral foam (if you choose to use it)
- Shaped cookie cutters (flower, heart, star, etc.)
- Melon baler or scooper (get crafty, we used a 1/4 rounded teaspoon as a scooper)
- 1 box of toothpicks
- 1 package of kabob sticks
- Assorted fruits: Fresh pineapples, kiwi, strawberries, oranges, honeydew, cantaloupe, red and green grapes, cherries, blueberries
- Parsley or kale (for a space filler)
Assembling your bouquet:
- Always wash your hands prier to handling the fruit arrangement.
- Place the floral foam or a lettuce head in the base of your selected container, basket, or vase. If you plan on using floral foam, completely cover it using lettuce leaves; toothpicks will pin the leaves in place.
- Thoroughly wash and dry fruit; cut, seed or core any necessary fruit such as kiwi, cantaloupe, pineapple etc.
- Use cookie cutters, melon baler or scooper to cut desired fruit shapes.
- Place fruit on toothpicks or kabobs and insert into foam tree.
- Fill any empty spaces between the fruit "flowers" with small bunches of kale or parsley.
- refrigerate after assembling.
Enjoy!
