Show Brussels sprouts in a whole new and tasty light with our Brussels Sprout Gratin. This is an easy way to turn Brussels sprouts into a meal rather than just a side dish. Chock full of vitamins A, vitamin C, folic acid and dietary fiber, whats not to love?
Brussels Sprout Gratin
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts; thinly sliced
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 2/3 cup whole or 1/2 % milk
- 1 ounce fresh grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 ounce butter
- 4 garlic cloves; finely chopped
- sea salt and freshly ground black pepper; to taste
Cut off the brown ends of the Brussels sprouts and pull off any yellow outer leaves. Thinly slice and set aside.
Preheat oven to 300. Butter a large casserole dish. Blend together cream, Parmesan, milk, sea salt and pepper.
In prepared casserole dish, place a layer of Brussels sprouts; sprinkle with garlic and pour in a quarter of the cream mixture. continue building layers in this way, ending with the remaining cream mixture.
Bake for around 1-1/2 hours. After 45 min, press the sprouts under the cream in dish. Remove from oven after golden brown.
